Young people often turn to each other for sexual health information. Training helps youth to pass on the most current information to their friends.
Youth Training
ISHS offers specialized training for youth in an educator supported program such a leadership or peerhelping classes. Youth training is offered over 6-8 hours in total.
The training sessions include self-reflection exercises, small group activities and larger group discussion. The focus of the sessions are current and factual sexual health information, skill building, and community resource support.
All participants receive a package of training materials for future reference. Training is offered at no cost thanks to Direct Access and United Way funding. For more specific information on our training program, refer to our Youth training 2011 [pdf] brochure or contact Jennifer Gibson to discuss training for your youth group.
