Please join us for our upcoming free parent education sessions entitled, “Be an Approachable, Knowledgeable Parent.” The session is designed to update parents on adolescent sexual health issues. Registration at each session is limited and will be accepted by email. Email “”:mailto:

We have confirmed three dates all beginning at 7:00 pm:
Tuesday October 21 at Gordonhead Rec Centre (sd 61),
Tuesday October 28 at GVPL (Juan De Fuca branch – Colwood) (sd 62)
Tuesday Nov 4 at Central Saanich Cultural Center 1209 Clarke Rd Brentwood Bay, (sd 63)

Each session is scheduled to be 1.75 hours long in duration with the first 30 minutes being an overview on approaching adolescent sexuality and tips for effective communication followed by a 15 minute break and then a 45-60 minute open floor discussion with our panel (Dr. Lara Eaton, MD, Heather McAdam, RN, Jennifer Gibson, MA, and Kyla Smyth) on adolescent sexual health issues such as STI prevention, contraception, and myth busting etc.

Jennifer Gibson MA, is the Coordinator of Community Education Services. She is a professional sexual health educator whose knowledge, sense of humour, enthusiasm, and comfort level give her the unique ability to make sexual health education accessible and easy to relate to.
