Call for Expressions of Interest from board members

Island Sexual Health Society (ISHS) is seeking passionate and skilled individuals to join our Board of Directors. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the following areas:


● Fundraising: Individuals with experience in fundraising strategies, donor
engagement, and securing grants or sponsorships to support our mission.
● Communications: Professionals who can enhance our outreach and
visibility through strategic communications, public relations, and social
media engagement.
● Sexual Health Advocacy: Advocates with a strong commitment to sexual
health education, policy influence, and promoting access to
comprehensive sexual and primary health care.
● Medical / Healthcare Expertise: Healthcare professionals who can
provide clinical insights, contribute to strategic planning, and support our
commitment to client-centered, holistic care.


Since 1969, Island Sexual Health has been a leading provider of sexual health services in Greater Victoria, Vancouver Island, and the Gulf Islands. Originally part of Planned Parenthood, we became an independent society in 1986. Each year, we serve over 40,000 individuals through a range of services, including sexual health clinical care, primary care for priority populations, community education, and a retail store offering gender-affirming products and sexual health resources.


By joining our Board, you will have the opportunity to directly impact the delivery of sexual and primary health care services in our community. Your skills in fundraising, communications, sexual health advocacy, or healthcare will be invaluable in helping us advance our mission and dismantle barriers to care and education.

As a Board member, you will:
● Support and guide our fundraising efforts to ensure the sustainability of our
services.
● Enhance our communications strategies to better reach and serve our
diverse community.
● Advocate for comprehensive sexual health education and accessible
healthcare.
● Provide clinical or strategic insights that contribute to our client-centered
approach.
If you are passionate about advancing sexual health, equity, and community
wellbeing, we encourage you to express your interest in joining our Board of
Directors.
