GAA Workshop – March 26th

Please join us a FREE Gender-Affirming Apparel Workshop: Gaffing/Tucking & Binding 101, hosted at Island Sexual Health! The workshop will be on Wednesday, March 26th from 5-8pm, in Island Sexual Health’s new Kitchen & Community Space. This workshop is open to all Two-Spirit, trans, non-binary and gender-diverse people, and support people are also welcome to join. Space is limited – RSVP via this link to reserve a spot! Once you’ve RSVPd, you’ll receive directions via email 2 days prior to the event location on ISH’s newly renovated second floor.

We’re thrilled to have Rae Hill (they/them) as our visiting facilitator! Rae is the creative powerhouse behind Origami Customs, a trailblazing brand specializing in custom-made gender-affirming garments for the trans and queer community. This free event will include a Gaffing/Tucking & Binding 101 workshop led informally by Rae from 6-7pm, followed by a Q&A session. With over 15 years of experience in trans-centred fashion, Rae will share safe gaffing/tucking and binding practices, tips for finding the right garment, advice on preventing discomfort or injury, and guidance on caring for your body while wearing compressive garments such as gaffs and binders.

Before and after the workshop, there will be time for folks to hang out and meet people, check out demos of Origami Customs’ products, and get measurement support from Rae. We’ll also have info about Island Sexual Health’s services, including our own Gender-Affirming Apparel (GAA) Program and tours of our new GAA Room!
